Preston's torn pectoral muscle
Preston and Ty went to the gym on Monday morning. I was at home getting Presley ready for tumbling and Preston called me saying get ready I needed to take him to Flagstaff that he had ripped his pec. Since Ty could only do upper body they were doing chest and had done lots of reps. Preston decided he wanted to do 315 a couple of times and on his second rep they heard a pop and Ty had to try to get the weight racked.
We tried calling ahead to get an urgent care appointment but no one would answer the phone so we had to wait about 3 hours to get him seen. They scheduled an appointment for an ultrasound the next day and an appointment with a surgeon a couple of days later. It just happened to be another big round of back to back snow storms. Due to the terrible weather and freeway closures, the surgeon had openings for surgery on Friday as long as insurance would approve it. Luckily they did and we decided to just be safe and stay the night Thursday so that he could have surgery done.
He was the last surgery of the day and they were running behind so I spent the afternoon watching an LSU baseball game in the car and working on my first Relief Society lesson. He had a hard time coming out of anesthesia and the nurse told us he has sleep apnea. We finally got out of there just before 6pm and he didn't remember any of it.
He started therapy the next week and has been going twice a week.
About 2 months later he was starting to feel good enough to try to help out with things around the house but we had to watch him because it was easy for him to overdo it.
We spent about a month chilling, streaming shows before that got old. He was starting to get depressed so we started walking at the church and eventually was able to join me exercising and modifying. He did learn how to do lots of things on his new laser he got for Christmas. He did lots of hat orders, made Aydon a new journal, wallet and Plan of Salvation puzzle.
It's been nice having him home, helping cook dinner and getting to go to church as a family every Sunday for a few months.
