Little League 2017

Ty was in his 3rd year of Majors.  The Dbacks went 2-14 for the season.  Ty played mostly second base and catcher.  He had a couple of games where he pitched and played shortstop.  He his a HOMERUN (in the park) and had some great hits at the end of the season.  The league did not have the end of the season tournament this year but I'm pretty sure his team was in last place.  He was selected for the 11 year old All-Star team.
Zack and Drew were on the Minor cubs.  They had an AWESOME season.  They finished first in their league with a 10-3-1 record.  Zack mostly played second base and Drew mostly played at either catcher or pitcher.  Drew was almost always the first batter and did great leading off.  Zack had some great hits too!  They had lots of fun and it was such a fun season watching all the boys on their team get a little better at baseball this season!

Aydon was in his first year of Senior League (13-16 year olds).  There were 5 teams (which is the most they've had in years) and although they didn't have a great record 2-9, they were winning or close in a lot of their games and would lose in the end.  Aydon really enjoyed the season saying it was so laidback and he had lots of fun and it didn't feel so competitive.  He missed his last four games due to vacation at Lake Powell and then a week at scout camp.

Lake Powell 2017

This is the earliest we've gone to Lake Powell in a while.  I remember going this early a few times before...I was a little worried it might be too cold.  Wrong!  :)  We did have lots of wind though.  We are used to get some monsoon winds but these were just your normal windy days, kind of stunk!

The boys had fun fishing and caught several big stripers and catfish.
Vickey had told Gary the night before when the boys were catching fish that she'd never caught and reeled in her own fish so the next morning Gary made sure she did!
So Jailyn and Garrett raced to see who was faster (shes an awesome swimmer...made it to state her Freshman year) and she beat her dad!  Preston wanted in on a race too.
She smoked him!

The rematch
Little closer but Jailyn still won.
J trying to teach Preston how to properly do breaststroke, he looked like he was trying to lead a choir.

Garrett had bought a new board that you could knee board, ski and wakeboard with.

Veronica's dad had a surgery scheduled for the second day we were there and when she called to check things weren't great so they ended up leaving on the second evening for her to be with her dad for open heart surgery the next morning.  It was a bummer they had to leave so early and I didn't get many pictures.
Ty played in the sand for a couple of hours.  He tried to take a picture with my camera and dropped my lens in the water and sand and it ruined it!  So I had to only use my long lens.

Always pulling kids on tubes, kneeboards or wakeboards.  :)
I convinced Drew to give kneeboarding a try.  He did awesome.  He tried doing a 360 but couldn't qutie grab the handle behind him to get it completed.

Sooo close!
On the third day, we packed some sandwiches and headed to Dangling Rope for ice cream.

It was nice to get to eat ice cream since it's been a few years.
I still hadn't taken many pictures so on the fourth day I made sure to bring my camera along as we played.

Zack wasn't feeling so good but we managed to get him out tubing and I even got in with him.

Dexter tried tubing for the first time.  They said they could hear him whining so after a while we stopped and put him back in the boat.

Our campspot in Kane Creek.  The water rose at least 2 feet while we were there, if not more.  It buried our anchors...so bad that it took hours just to get 2 of them out and decided to give up on the other two.

Drew and his dad are C R A Z Y ! ! !

Hot dog fun with Granny, Drew and Gage riding behind them.
