All Stars 2015

After the boys played in the championship game, they announced All-Stars.  Both of the boys wanted to make it so bad and it made me nervous.  I was scared that neither would make it or one would make it and the other wouldn't.  Luckily, they both made it.  The bad news of that is they play the same dates in different towns so we won't get to watch both of them.

Little League 2015

Aydon had his second year in Majors this year.  Normally, they stay on the same team but the board voted to redraft the whole league this year for equality from a problem from last year.  We decided to move Ty up a year early.  Billy Barton drafted the boys to the Dbacks and Preston helped coach.  They finished the regular season 12-3, they were such a good group of boys that got along and all were great sportsmen.  They went 3-0 in the end of the sesason tournament so they were the Champions.  

The championship game was exactly the kind of  game you hope for, a good game back and forth and they beat the Rangers 7-6.  Aydon played left field all year long and caught a few fly balls.  Hitting was a bit of a struggle again but he did have a couple of triples and doubles.  Ty played 3rd base all year long and made lots of outs at third from tagging people out while trying to steal.  He started the year doing pretty good at batting but had a good eye and had lots of walks.  He did get hit by the pitcher three times this year, one on the leg that left a good bruise, on the shoulder & then hit his hand so he got a bit nervous at batting towards the end of the season.  I know Preston enjoyed coaching this team and the boys had a great year.  

Zack had his first year in minors (pitching machine).  It was also his coaches first year so they went 2-12-1 this year.  They had 20 games (too many in my opinion) and he didn't go to 3 of them and a couple got rained out.  Zack mostly played pitcher and then usually would play right field when not there.  He caught a flyball & threw the runner out at first in one play as pitcher.  Batting wise he mostly struck out but got a few hits.  He had a double one game and then made a homerun another game.  It was so funny because it was a good hit that would've normally been a double but when he got to second they were close to tagging him out so I guess he decided to just keep running so when they threw to third it was an overthrow and he ran home.  He was so happy because the Sullivan's bought him a McDonald's gift card.  He was constantly being bribed that if he made a hit we'd buy him a burger at McDonald's.  He got quite a few burgers by getting some hits.  :)

Drew had 13 games and 2 more that were rained out as well.  He loved having practice and games, I mean after going with brothers all these years he was excited to finally have his turn.  He loved to play pitcher or first base but his most favorite thing was sliding into home.  He was so funny because he would run so fast and all the other coaches made comments to us after the game on how funny he was.  

For the first time, I got to get a picture with my boys in uniform.  Preston had to work and since I was a coach as well, I got to get the free coaches picture.  

Zack's 7th birthday

Zack officially turned 7.  Since we went to Disneyland in March and we told him to tell all the workers that he was 7 so that he could ride without an adult I have continued to think he was 7. 

 Sunshine brought donuts, his card with his own debit card & some chapstick first thing that morning.  The card was Garfield and had this pin that said, "I've never seen these people before in my whole life".  He wears it quite often.

The day of his birthdays the older boys had a game so we couldn't do anything that day.  We bought him a Minecraft lego set and told him we would have a party on Saturday.

My parents and John pitched in and bought him a regular scooter.  The boys like going to the skate park but Zack can't ride his electric scooter on the ramps so now he can.

He had been wanting to do a party at the outdoor pool but we've had a weird weather year.  It was raining that day so we moved the party to our house.  I had some Luau decorations that I was planning to use for bunco that I'm hosting later in the month so we just pulled those out.

We decided to do some limbo.  Poor Brody was so tall that he didn't make it very long.  He actually wouldn't even try.  

Aydon had just purchased this foosball table and we finally had time to set it up so Zack wanted to play with his friends.  I love the excitement!  Brody Knight, Emily Wilbanks, Jake Hartman were the guests.

We then had a nerf gun war.  The kids absolutely loved it.  For more than half the party, that's what they did and when we asked if they wanted to do something else they all said no.  

 If you got shot you had to stay down for 10 seconds so that's why Jake's lying down.

I was just going to make cupcakes for the pool but Zack was sad on Tuesday when we took cupcakes to the boys baseball game to share with everyone so I made him a cake since we were at home, but it's just plain since I had no time with the party change.

 They all put little umbrella's in their kool-aid cups.  :)

After cake and ice cream, all the kids got up and started trying to hula which led to more dancing.  It was so funny.  I thought of taking video but didn't want them to get embarassed and stop so only Preston and I get the fun memory of that.

 More legos for Zack.

 He loves legos and will play with them for hours, much better than trying to play video games for hours.

 Even though Corey had given him more legos on his actual birthday, they brought him a gift card to McDonald's for the party.

We bought him the bat that he wanted all year long that I was going to wait until it went on clearance but he seriously didn't ask for anything besides a scooter and legos.  He will get to use it now that we have a baseball field at our house and be ready for next year.

The DeSpain's bought him his own bag of Taqi's and gave him money and he got more money from the Crandall's.  He decided to save it though and has yet to buy anything with it.
