Christmas

Christmas Eve:  We had our annual Sullivan Christmas Eve get together with Gumbo.  We played several games.  We started off with a get to know you game where we pulled 1-5 squares of toilet paper off the roll and had to tell something about ourselves for every square we pulled.  Sunshine bought everyone 2 scratchers and I think I was the only one in our family that won with a $1!  We played Corey's punch board game.  It was so fun and had cute little prizes.  Next, Granny had made a game where we randomly pulled a string from a cup that pulled a paper plate with a prize on it.  Lastly, Shawna had brought Christmas theme pictionary/charades.  You could decide to draw or act it out.  It was lots of fun.  Presley & John Luke even joined in and did so good.  Presley was funny as Zack was drawing a snowman he just quickly drew a circle for a head and she said he forgot to put eyes and a mouth so after the turn was over she ran up and drew them in.  John Luke on his first try started spelling something we thought.  He spelled "ohio fet" and then finally drew the triangle that he was supposed to.  Mom had us all rolling with her drawing of "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire".  Preston was of course at work AGAIN and missed out on our party.  We did our gift exchange and then did some elf and cajun names.  Sunshine took Presley & John Luke to get presents for their parents.  I loved her tags...From Presley to Dad: "Have a Merry Christmas" (a phrase she repeated all month long from one of her cartoons) and when Sunshine asked her what to get Mom she said, "Let's get mom some nails" so they got me a gift card to have my nails done along with some new Mickey Mouse jammies and slippers.

Drew was up at 4am to check out Santa gifts and woke me up to tell me.  He tried waking Presley up and I said not yet.  He came back at 5 something and I still said no and finally at 6:30 when he came in I said ok and we got everyone up and looked at Santa gifts.

Preston made it home about 11am and the plan was to have a Shrimp/Crab Boil, Homemade French fries, fish & hushpuppies at his parents house at 1pm.  When he got home, we stopped cooking and opened our presents to each other and the couple of stocking stuffers we got for them.  It ended up putting me 45 minutes behind on lunch though so we didn't get down there on time.  It was a yummy Christmas dinner that was different from anything we've had before.  We exchanged gifts and then came home for Preston to learn how to work his new watch and get to bed for the night.  The rest of us played Drew's new card game Goat Lords and really enjoyed it.
