We love Preston day!

The first of two dreaded days was upon us today.  Preston turned the big 3-0.  Neither of us are excited about turning 30 this year.  The boys asked how old he was and when we told them Aydon said, "that's old!" 

Before Preston went on his walk this morning he got to open his presents.  Me and the boys went to Flagstaff by ourselves last Friday to get his presents so they could be a surprise and amazingly they kept it a secret all week even though Preston would try to find out where we hid them or ask what we got him.  We told him he had to guess what each present was before opening it.

He knew it was a movie & when I told him he had to guess which movie Ty mouthed it to him.  :)  I was trying to help the boys pick a movie and Aydon saw Alvin & the Chipmunks 2 and decided dad would like that.  I told Ty to pick one and he agreed with Aydon that dad would want that. 

Preston was shaking this one trying to figure it out.  His guess was a gun.  (of course that's what he would guess!)  It was a white watch he picked out a couple of months ago.

Zach came and held this movie out and wouldn't stop until I finally took a picture of him. 

Preston wanted to go back to Fossil Creek for his birthday.  He's been dying to go back since we 'discovered' it at the end of last summer.  Unfortunately, they were having an employee appreciation day where families could check out an engine.  The boys were so excited to see where dad worked and I had never seen one either so we're postponing the Fossil Creek trip a few days.

We had a family bbq like we normally do.  We had steaks, grilled corn on the cob, grilled squash & dutch oven potatoes (YUM!).  Preston gave me heck about having to grill his own birthday dinner but he did have help...he didn't do it all by himself.  His mom made his favorite, her strawberry cake.  I only put on 3 candles and everyone was giving him a hard time saying, "where are the other 10 cakes?"  He got a new Diamondbacks jersey from my parents & gift card to Red Lobster & a new tree from his parents.

We weren't able to get a family picture on Easter so I made sure to get one for today. 

Happy Birthday to the best husband and dad!  We love you so very much!!

Baby BOY #4!!

We wil be completing our family in August!  I'm due the 20th.  I can't believe we're halfway there already!  We tried not to tell many people about it yet and I think not talking about it has made it go by a little faster. 

The boys wanted a boy when we were having Zach.  We would tell Aydon, it might be a girl and he would get MAD and say, "no, it's a boy!"  This time around he still wanted a boy.  He said if it was a girl he would not like all the pink. 

Ty wanted a girl.  He told me, "I've been thinking about it and it's a girl.  Cause you're the only girl in our family and we need another one."  (I think my parents may have influenced that).  He even picked out a girls name.  It just happens to be one of his little friends from playgroup.  :)  After our 16 week visit we told him the doctor thought it may be a boy according to the baby's heart rate.  Ty said, "I don't like that doctor.  We're not going back to him!"  Then all of a sudden just yesterday he said it was a boy & that he wanted a boy.  When he was told it was a boy he said, "the next one will be a girl."  Too bad there's no next one buddy!

I'm afraid Zach doesn't want another baby.  He doesn't like sharing mom as it is.  He likes to look at other people's baby but if I try to hold someone else's baby he runs up and tries to push the baby away and then climbs up in my lap.  Hopefully that will change.

We had decided we weren't even going to start discussing names until we found out so now the fun begins.  I did have one that I've had picked out before I was even pregnant that Preston likes it too so we'll see if it works out!

Easter 2010

We got to start our Easter festivities off on Saturday.  The City has an annual Easter Egg hunt they do.  This is the boys before we started.  Can't believe they all held still for me. 

Aydon ran off immediately and was done gathering the limit I gave him before Ty & Zach even got to the eggs!  :)  I tried to help Zach but I guess it was too much for him.  So as we were leaving (and away from all the people) he figured out what he was supposed to do and went for it! 

After the egg hunt, we headed home to do our annual Easter cookies.  We love to bake and decorate sugar cookies for all the holidays!

Last year, Sunshine bought some sugar cookies that you could color with special food coloring markers.  We saved those markers and that's how Aydon chose to decorate most of his cookies.

When the cookies were all done we moved on to coloring eggs.  Sunshine came out to help and daddy got home just in time to take care of a very fussy Zach. 

Saturday was filled with so much Easter fun with the majority of it just mom & her boys!  It was fun but wow, may have been too much!  I was exhausted.

The Easter Bunny left the boys with some gifts in their baskets. 

Aydon has been wanting Alvin & the Chipmunks for so long and the Easter Bunny finally came through for him. 

Ty has thrown a few fits for the Cars fishing pole the Easter Bunny brought him.  Thank you Easter Bunny!  You can see the excitement by the blurriness of the picture.  Now our trips to Wal-Mart will be less dramatic (hopefully!).

Now that Zach's jibber-jabbering more it was so fun to see his reaction.  He was so excited to get some new cars.  He kept saying, "Cars! Cool!" over and over again. 

Aydon was also excited to get a chocolate bunny in his basket.  The Easter Bunny has never left one before.

The two older boys were beyond excited to finally have grass in our backyard to do an egg hunt.  We've had to do it at the grandparents house the last couple of years. 

Zach really enjoyed finding the "balls" as he called them. 

He did great and even found a tricky one here.

Aydon was ready for a challenge.  Here is finding one of the better hidden ones.

The boys asked to hide eggs for each other with our help.  So we hid some for Ty first.  Then Ty helped us hide some for Aydon but Ty was so excited about it he kept telling Aydon where they were at.  Aydon was very upset and said he didn't need any clues.  So we did it one more time for Aydon & Ty did much better at not giving clues.  In ended up that Aydon needed help finding the last few eggs after all.

I took on Easter dinner this year.  We invited both of our parents over and Sunshine was finally home for a holiday!  John had to work but came out on his lunch break to eat and visit while we were playing cards. 

I totally planned to do this Easter bunny cake on Saturday but it ended up being too much for that day so Sunshine got to come out and decorate it for us Easter morning.  I think it's so cute and love to have it for dessert. 

My mom got these cute Easter bunny glasses and everyone tried a pair on.  I got pictures of the ones that cooperated.  Zach would NOT leave them on even for a second. 

We had a great Easter weekend!
