Fossil Creek 2014

Our original plan was to go to Fossil Creek on Good Friday but there was another family get together planned after we decided that so we changed our date to during spring break.  We didn't think it'd be warm enough but if we didn't go then we figured we wouldn't get a chance again.  We did our hike, took pictures, ate some grapes as a snack and no one was brave enough to go swimming back at the big waterfall.

We then had our picnic lunch and decided to just show Jhett the other waterfall but everyone ended up jumping in and playing.  I was the only wimp that didn't jump in.  We made the best of it but will be sure to get back another time this year to truly enjoy the creek.

We had planned to stay the night and go again the next day but it was just too dang cold and windy so we headed home and watched a movie.  

Spring Break Bowling

We were fortunate enough to have great weather the majority of spring break.  When the second week came along when we had our 2nd trip lanned it decided to turn yucky.  It was horribly windy and the temperatures dropped so the first day of our trip we decided to go bowling.  Well we wanted to feed the boys before we went and by doing that we hit right when they started league bowling.  We had to burn two hours before we could go back for open bowling again.  I needed one thing at the grocery store for our camping trip and when we went to buy that we noticed a store going out of business.  We decided to check it out and see if we could find any deals and boy did we!  We burned those two hours and didn't even realize it!

 Last year, Aydon got to bring a friend a long so this year it was Ty's turn.

 This was me beating Preston AGAIN!  Jhett wanted to bowl without bumpers so that's why he was in our lane.  After the first frame he decided that he did want bumpers.

Drew spanked his brothers the first round.  He had 3 spares. 

 Think this is like the 5th time in a row I've beat Preston.  :)

 The boys loved this alley because it had so many different graphics.

 They enjoyed changing them as they were waiting for their turn to bowl.  

I missed Zack's strike!  He came up to me and said mom I knocked them all down but it didn't dawn on me that it was a strike and not a spare.  He had been beating his brothers but Aydon came back and beat him in the last couple of frames.  We always have so much fun bowling...love it!

Roosevelt

We were able to join our friends again this year for a few days at Roosevelt.  I was so excited, esecially since when we pulled up it was so warm & sunny!  The boys could hardly wait for us to get the trailer unlocked and into their swim clothes.  They quickly changed and joined in the fun with their friends.

The next morning, Preston, Aydon & Zack went out on the boat to go fishing.  Preston had whispered to me to help distract Drew so he could get away.  I did, we took our time getting his fishing pole ready but they still hadn't pulled away.  I told Drew go ahead and run & yell for daddy but of course, they pulled away at that moment and I had one sad little boy that came and cried on my shoulder.  So I said we could go fishing.  I cast his pole the first time and then he wanted to do it "all by himself" so I taught him.  Of course, he got it down immediately and was casting it better than any of his brothers...even his dad, maybe.  haha

 Ty & Avery were having a blast trying to ride Avery's bike in the water and helping each other.

Drew, Mia & I played a game of Toy Story Yahtzee.  Drew ALWAYS wins when we play at home but Mia won this time & Drew was a good sport!  He really enjoyed making a new friend but couldn't remember her name (just like his dad) and kept calling her a friend from preschool.

 As soon as Drew saw the boat coming back, he had to go tell Dad that he left without him!

Preston was chasing me trying to throw me in the water.  I got away for a little while, he eventually got me and threw me in.  Warmer than last year!

We took a ride to see the bridge, hoping two little boys would fall asleep but right as one of them was we got to the bridge and the thought of that nap disappeared immediately.

Ty jumped in and got lined up but decided against it.  Preston said the water was FREEZING!  

 On the last day, while packing & cleaning was going on, Ty & Avery built a boat.

 Avery sending it on it's maiden voyage.  I think they named it Gilligan???  We introduced the boys to Gilligan's Island recently and they have been obsessed with it.  :)

They did a great job, it worked well.

 We took Dexter this year.  He's such a good dog, we all love him and hate leaving him alone.

We again had a great time!  I got my tan, was able to relax & the kids had fun with friends!  I loved that Sunshine came and hung out with us this year, even though I have no pictures as proof!
