Halloween

I totally failed as a mom this year.  I just haven't firgured out the balance of working and all the things that I used to do as a stay at home mom.  I didn't decorate (Drew was the only one that asked and a couple of weekends ago I told him we would after we cleaned but when we were done he went and played and so it didn't get done, no sugar cookies, only by Preston going and buying pumpkins and cleaning them out while we were at school were we able to carve pumpkins.  We barely had time to squeeze pumpkin carving in.  Aydon was having friends over to watch Tarzan so he didn't carve one this year.
Drew wanted to carve Pluto and we got it all lined out and because we bought small pumpkins we didn't think it would carve right so we made another design on the other side to cut out.  It did look cute!
We just let him pick a jack o lantern face and I free handed it.
Zack wanted LSU and we couldn't find anything so I just freehanded his as well.
Ty had come home from school and saw the pumpkins and immediately got online and found a ninja turtle.  He was trying to keep it a secret from everyone.  Turned out pretty good, even on a small pumpkin.
Preston was working on Halloween.  I had to sub on Halloween too so I didn't get to go to any school parades or parties.  I did get off just in time to pick them up and we went to run errands.  While we were at Wal-Mart we went to see what my mom dressed up as.  She didn't dress up but she invited us over for dinner.

Granny reminded them to wear their light up shoes!
They wanted to pose like each of their turtles...Donatello being a nerd, Michaelangelo was riding his skateboard & Raphael was showing off his guns while Leonardo was looking at them "goofing off".

Another character pose
These guys were so cute!  Poor John was on a train so he missed out but he would've been dressed up like them as well.
John Luke looked so stinking adorable and was too small to take the glasses off so he wore them all night.
Sunshine was someone from the movie Pineapple Express.  She did look exactly like him after she showed me the picture.

The boys stopped at all the grandparents,
went to Corey's parents and the neighbors across the street from my parents and that was all.  They handed out candy while we were cooking and eating at Granny & Pappaw's.  The thing they wanted to do most was go play in the hay maze at LaPosada.  This has become a halloween tradition.  This time though, they said they saw a skunk near the end and so they didn't hang out too long.  Then I'd enough and we called it a night.  I had already bought bags of their favorite candy at the store so it's not like they needed to get any candy.
Drew's 1st grade class went to a pumpkin patch in Snowflake.  They each brought home a pumpkin and they were the big ones.  He wanted to make pumpkin pie with his so Granny Vickey bought him this Vampire Mickey to use in the meantime.
