Halloween 2012

This was some of the loot Granny spoiled the boys with.
John said Drew looks like Where's Waldo and I couldn't agree more.

Aydon & Ty wanted to be pirates this year & Zack wanted to be Mickey Mouse.  We went to visit my parents one evening and my mom showed Ty a black ninja costume so he changed his mind.  With that, I knew our chances of doing a family theme were out the window so the kids got to pick their own.
Aydon got to go to a friend's birthday party a couple of days before Halloween.  I hadn't even looked at make-up ideas for Jack Sparrow so we just did some black eyeliner everywhere.  After that, I looked it up and was ready to do his face the other times he dressed up.
Zack's costume turned out AMAZING!  I loved it.  My Uncle picked up a black vest and some red pants but Zack has grown and it looked a little too small.  My mom added some sleeves and tails to the vest and it made it look much better.  She bought him some red sweat pants and I cut out some yellow felt.  We slipped yellow socks over his shoes, granny made him a black tie and we had a "minnie mouse" bow (neither one ended up on the above picture).  He got a pair of Mickey ears from the Easter Bunny with his name on the back that he has yet to wear.  Well, he got a new pair of pirate Mickey ears that had red (his favorite color) so he decided to throw the BRAND NEW Mickey ears away.  I was very upset for a couple of hours when I found out, he ended up wearing my Mickey ears.  I wanted to dress up as Minnie Mouse with him but I never got anything together so I just was going to skip out on dressing up this year.
Ty did some awesome poses & faces for me!
Jack Sparrow saying, Argh!
We recycled one of Aydon's old costumes for Drew.  He would not wear the pirate hat so he got to wear the pirate Mickey ears.  He was so funny because everytime he dressed up he walked arounds saying, Argh!
I asked him for one more picture and this is the progression I got.
LOVE the pouty lips and hat thrown on the floor.
We went to a church party Saturday night and we recycled an old Pirate costume for Preston and I just borrowed an old costume from my mom.  I so do not fit in!

And just for fun:
Pirates in 2005-Ty was only one month so he was just in a pumpkin pajama outfit.
Aydon & Preston (I think this was only Preston's 2nd year of dressing up-can you tell?)
Drew & Preston (and now Preston realizes it's gonna happen. haha!)
We only carved one pumpkin this year due to lack of time. ( I thought life would slow down after football...boy was I wrong!  I have come to accept it isn't slowing down EVER!)
With the lack of time, I had to wake up at 5am to get these things made for parties.  So no help from the kids this year.
This was on our way to trunk-or-treat.  Zack started out being silly so I told them all to do a silly face.

Love that baby boy!
My mom dressed up as a witch and looked awesome.  I should've zoomed in on her makeup...she had cobwebs and a spider on her face.
After trunk-or-treat the boys went to my parents and passed out glowsticks to their trick-or-treaters.  All these fun things came with her order of glowsticks.

We have yet to see the latest Batman movie so John had to show me pictures of who he dressed up like-Bane.  After he showed me pictures I was amazed at how similar they made the costume.  I shouldn't have been though...my mom's awesome like that.  :)  John wanted to take the boys to a haunted maze.  My boys have never watched scary movies, heck Ty gets scared of cartoon scary parts but they both insisted they wanted to go.  We left Drew with my parents and we went.  Zack was the only one not crying and screaming when we were done.  We were gonna take them to one more that was going on in town but Ty was having a fit so we decided to walk them through the hay maze behind the LaPosada.  It's something that's always there and not many people know about.  We've taken them during the day before and thought it'd be a good way to end the night.  Ty was convinced that people were going to be popping out at him trying to scare him the entire time and didn't relax until we finished.  I was sure all three of them would end up in our bed but they did fine.  Thank goodness.  Just the normal 3 of us in our bed is too many.

Star of the Week

Ty was student of the week the week after Fall Break.  We had the chance to work on it before and had it all ready.
As I left the table, I told Ty to put away the markers while I got dinner ready.  Well, being a boy, he didn't listen and guess who got the markers.  We had to re-order pictures & buy another poster to re-make it because Drew colored over 2 of the pictures and most of the words.  I was bummed because he did an AMAZING job on drawing and coloring his animals the first time.
That is a row of elk stickers, a row of heavy equipment because he wants to be a "destruction worker" when he grows up.  A picture of him on the swing out in the woods and below it, it says: We love to camp, swing, ride 4-wheelers, look for animals in the woods.  His favorite video game is "Super Mario Bros Weeee Heeeee!"  That makes me laugh everytime.  He included of a picture of us last Halloween with us dressed up as Mario Bros characters and beneath that picture it says we like to dress up as a family theme at Halloween.
We included a picture of him flexing in Tiger Stadium and he wrote "I love football!".  He drew a purple & gold football and wrote LSU Tigers out.  We added a picture of him in his uniform.  He put a picture of Alex the Lion because that is his favorite movie (we just bought Madagascar 3).  He included a picture of us on our Disney Cruise and wrote all the names of our family in their favorite colors.  He drew a picture of lion and his den, an elephant, a rhino & "I love anmlale!".  He also used stickers to put "ty" and drew the number 7 for how old he is.
Each day he got to take something for show & tell.  He took last year's football trophy, this year's football trophy, his stuffed Dumbo & took Berenstein Bears "Clean House" to read to his class.

Football 2012 is over

The league opted to have playoffs this year and so it shortened the season by two games.  Poor Mighty Mites, which ended up 7-1 and second in the league behind Show Low, do not have playoffs.
I think it may be ok with Ty though.  I was driving them to practice the last week and when I looked over I saw this.  Asleep while attempting to buckle up.  There were many times he fell asleep on the way to practice...it's a long season for these little guys.
Preston is really sad it's over too.  He LOVED coaching this group of very young kids that did so well.  Definitely leaves him excited for next year with all the returning players.  I love this picture of him at practice.  He had no idea I took this picture.
After the final game.
Ty & Dad

Ty & Uncle John
Ty with his defensive coaches
One of the asssistant coaches offered to make Navajo Tacos for the mighty mites after our last game.  Most of the team was able to make it and it appeared they had fun playing flag football and running around playing, catching lizards.

Coach K made personalized cupcakes!
We were disappointed in Aydon's season.  We had high hopes of a great season and ended 2-5.  They played a great last game though winning 35-0.  Aydon had a great last 3 games and in the last week of practice he received the "golden football".  The coaches had talked about giving the golden football to one player for each game but it never happened so when they pulled it out and gave it to Aydon we were so happy.  It was hard to watch him only play half the time on defense and their team struggle but Aydon was always a good sport and continued to work hard so it was very nice for him to be recognized for that.  He missed his coaches Dad & Uncle John and I know they missed coaching him.

Fall Break-Arizona Grand

The weather is still really nice and warm.  Friday we went canoeing down the creek and everyone got in except for me.  (Someone had to hold the canoe :))  It felt amazing to be in a swimsuit in October and still working on a tan.
Aydon had a football game in Payson on Saturday so earlier in the week we had decided to go to Phoenix after the game to have some fun during the break.  I wanted to go to a water park but they are all closed already. We looked into resorts with water parks and I found the Arizona Grand had 3 water slides, a lazy river and a wave pool.  Just the 3 things that I was looking forward to the most from a water park.  We booked a room and got to play in the sun for 5 glorious hours in mid 90 temperatures.  We had Jailyn stay with us so she could go play with us at the water park the next day.
The park was open 11-4 and the price of food was ridiculous so we went to IHOP for breakfast and made everyone stuff themselves to hold them over until dinner time.  Drew ate soo much and had tons of syrup everywhere.  Preston took him potty and tried to clean him up a bit.  While his hair was wet Jailyn gave him a mohawk and there was still enough syrup left to hold it up.
We checked out before playing and this boy could not wait to go play!  He was ready to take off without dad.
Aydon, Ty & Jailyn playing in the wave pool.
Dad with Zack & Drew.  Then I decided to join the fun and didn't get many more pictures.  :)
Drew loves to put on theses goggles and throw the rings.
You had to be 48" to ride the slides.  We had measured Ty before we booked the rooms and he was like 47 1/2-3/4".  So close.  I told him with his spiky hair I'm sure they'd let him go, then the day before we left Ty decided he wanted his head shaved like Aydon's.  Preston took them all up to the slides the first time while I stayed down with the younger two and sure enough him & Ty came walking back.  Well about 2 hours before closing Preston finally told me we could take him to the main office for an official measurement so we did and they made him suck in, move his head all around and help him grow to 48" so Ty finally got to go ride on the twirly slide.  He was not interested in riding the other two.
Preston & Aydon going down the slides together.  My personal favorite was the twirly slide and then the ones that goes straight down that Preston is riding on.  That one that Aydon rides was "uncomfortable".
The three older kids would ride the slides and then jump on the lazy river so we didn't get a group shot but here's 4 of us.
After the water park, Garrett & Veronica invited us over for dinner and to watch Avengers.  We checked into another room and got cleaned up and while Jailyn was showering Zack & Drew made this little set up.  A luggage rack and pillows from the sofa and Zack started massaging Drew's head.  Preston and I were laughing at how Drew's hands were folded.  Has he done this before?
Then it was Zack's turn.  Funny boys.
We wanted to watch a movie while we were down there but Preston was going to have to go to work sooner than we thought so we didn't get to.  We had lots of fun though.
