Ice Skating

Preston & Aydon got to go Ice Skating with the church youth group.  Aydon was so excited to give it a try again and see if he could play ice hockey eventually.
Gonna go ahead and say, he needs lots of work.  :)

There was no school on MLK day and we wanted to go hiking.  Too bad it was super cold and had snowed lots recently so we decided to just hike Jack's Canyon by our house.  We started right near 99 and walked as far as the steel bridge but by then my bum knee was so cold it would hardly bend and my hip started hurting on the other side.  I was a mess!
Drew found a long branch that was bent and used it as a fishing pole
and later as a mustache.
It was so cold that a lot of the water frozen.  In shallow places or places hidden from the sun in the canyon, it was frozen solid so the boys got to "ice skate".

 Bopper watching the boys
and finally trying it out himself.
Preston spotted this owl.  If you look at the top of the picture you see three rock columns.  It's midway on the middle column.  Very well camoflauged.
A zoomed in picture.  We also saw 2 white or snow owls a bit further down the canyon.  Seeing the owls was cool and worth freezing our booties off for.
