8-9-10...turned out to be a great day!
It was the first day of school. Aydon was excited to start school again, just not to go to bed early and wake up early. He likes to stay up late and is always the last one awake every morning. He asked the night before what he should wear for his first day of school...really? He's already concerned about what to wear?! :) He picked out this outfit for the first day. He has been dying to wear his new shoes we bought him. P.S. He learned to tie his own shoes the last week of summer!!! It only took ten minutes when we worked on it this time. Thank goodness!
Aydon's 1st day of 1st grade!
After we got him on the school bus we had to go to my doctor appointment. As the doctor was checking the baby's heart I felt some cramping and noticed the heartrate seemed a little slow. He listened for longer than normal so I asked if it was a little slow and he said yes. He wanted to put me on the monitor for a few minutes but the two in his office were taken so he sent us across the street to the hospital. They monitored me for about an hour and everything was fine.
After we left the hospital, we went to our favorite lunch spot, LaFonda's. The salsa was hotter than normal and I mentioned that to Preston and he said keep eating it, maybe it will put you in labor! We had to go get a few things at Sam's Club before heading home and as we pulled into the parking lot I started feeling lots of pain in my lower back and some cramping in my tummy. As we walked through Sam's club the back pain was intensifying and I felt like I was having contractions but they were short and not very painful. When we left we headed towards home and right before we got on the freeway I told Preston maybe we should time these before we head home. At 2:30 I started timing the harder contractions (I was having still having small contractions in between the hard ones) and they were 13 minutes apart. I had been having lots of contractions the last week but they never got regular so I told Preston let's go walk around another store and see if they got closer. An hour later they were five minutes apart so we called our families to head up to the hospital and we headed there ourselves. I got to the hospital at 4:05pm and was still at the same stage I was when he had checked me that morning. An hour later I was hurting really bad & started asking about some pain stuff because I thought if I'm already hurting this bad and still have 4 or 5 hours to go I might get some help this time. They checked me and I was at 7 (so no pain meds). They put me into a room, I took a bath to try to help with the back pain and by the time I got out the doctor was there, he broke my water and at 6:17pm we had our sweet little baby boy. Can you imagine if we would've drove home? Preston's biggest fear of having the baby on the freeway probably would've come true.

I hate pics after labor...they are not pretty at all.

Look what he found immediately. It was so cute to hear him sucking so quickly after birth. Preston was already concerned about him being a thumb sucker but I think it's probably a good thing. He can be a self-soother which he will most likely need to be a lot.

While we were walking to time our contractions Preston bought this as his going home outfit.
Ready to go home & meet his brothers!
A picture with his eyes open.
Zach, Ty & Aydon meeting Keylan Drew for the first time.
Daddy warned Drew about his rough brother Zach before we left the hospital but Zach did good.
Aydon was super excited to hold him. One of the first things he asked was if we could take him to school so he could show everyone his new brother.
Sweet Ty-Ty. He has ALWAYS loved babies. Here he is loving on his new brother.
Zach getting to hold Drew. He was really into checking out his legs & feet.
Our first picture as a family of SIX!!! Crazy.
