Grand Falls

We wanted to go hike Jack's Canyon when we got home from our vacation but of course the wind was blowing too hard.  We decided to go check out Grand Falls instead.  We went a couple of years ago but didn't take the camera and neither of the boys remembered so we figured it was worth the trip again.
For those of you not from this area, this is out in the middle of the Navajo Reservation.  You would never expect to see something like this.  I've heard that it is larger than Niagara Falls but having never been there I don't know if it's really true or not.  Has anyone been to both to confirm this?

Spring Break 2010

As we were trying to plan Spring Break we considered going to San Diego or some place we've never been but after the winter we've had we decided we'd rather just be somewhere warm and hang out at the pool!  We checked weather and of course Phoenix was the warmest place around.  So that's what we did.
We started Spring Break off with a picnic lunch to the fountain in Fountain Hills.  All these years of living in/traveling to the Valley, I've always wanted to check out the fountain but never had.  The boys were all napping at our normal stop so we just kept going and were able to enjoy a picnic at the park while waiting for the fountain to go off.  Zach went nuts over all the ducks.  Couldn't even get that little piggy to eat his lunch.  Anytime I would give him something to eat, he'd throw it to the ducks.  LOVED the weather!  After shopping and getting to our room only the 2 older boys were brave enough to go swimming.  They did not want to get out either!

The next day we took them to the Phoenix Children's Museum for Youth.  Zach's favorite part was riding on this tricycle through the "carwash".
They had a fort building area.
In their art section, they had this table that was lit up with sand on the top.  Aydon got started right away and I couldn't figure out what he was doing...I should've known.  I think it turned out awesome!
There was a kitchen area & the boys made pizzas.  Next to the kitchen area was a shopping area with cash registers.  The boys really enjoyed these two sections as well.
Our last stop...poor Aydon thought it was a real ice cream stand.
We checked into a resort that had a waterpark so that we could enjoy the warm weather and hang out by the pool all day long and not be bored.  It was perfect.  The second day was really warm and we all had a blast.  We all tried the waterslide first thing.  Ty got a little freaked out and never went back on it but Aydon sure loved it.  (He was going to fast to get the shot)
After our lunch, me & Zach were laying out.  He really enjoyed it as you can see in this picture.  He also really liked doing the lazy river with mom.  We could've done that all day long!
We wore poor Ty out.  We knew he was getting tired so him & Dad went on the lazy river and he nearly fell asleep so they had to get off early and it didn't take 2 minutes for this to happen afterwards.  :)
We planned to take the boys to play miniature golf but I didn't know they had it at the resort we stayed at so they got to play a couple of times.  That made them happy!  We were also able to have their cousins come over after school & play in the pool and do a round of golf with them.
They even had plastic putters so Zach got to play with us.  That is exactly how he held it every time even though I showed him numerous times how to.
We also checked out the Hall of Flame museum.  Here they are in the one fire engine you're allowed to climb in.  Aydon was the only one interested in this museum.  Ty & Zach could've cared less.
We had to get a picture with Smokey Bear to show Pappaw.
Mom & Dad were able to meet up with one of their friends at a spring training game and then we were able to finish off vacation at the Easter Pageant.  What a great ending to a fun vacation!  And really, Easter already?

Just some random pictures

With preschool over I find myself with so much more time on my hands. I'm taking advantage of it and getting some things done (I guess Preston's been helping a LITTLE bit too.) We're not done yet but here's some pictures of what has been started.
Ty was adamant about having his room painted red.  Against my wishes, we did (just one wall)...turns out even though it was all the work I knew it would be I really like it.
With Zach's new room we did a Cars theme.  I absolutely love the color of his room.  Granny Vickey had a lady come in and paint that Cars sign on his wall and the signs in Ty's room above.  Like I said, we're not done so we'll post pictures of all the rest when it gets done.

We got the boys some new church outfits and I had to take some pictures.  I love my handsome boys!!!  All four of them!  :)
Sunshine watched Ty & Zach for us the other day while we were out.  When we got home I peeked in to check on Zach and found him asleep at his table.  He's pretty good at naps but some days you will hear him playing before he goes to sleep.  Apparently he got a little tired while playing and didn't make it to the bed.
