Clear Creek Days

We were in Phoenix to buy school shoes and Drew had a travel baseball game he was asked to play on.  We had to take 2 vehicles to be able to split up because of the different things going on.  Aydon had to work the first annual Clear Creek Days as a lifeguard on the water trampoline.  Zack had his "fun" swim meet in Holbrook but we just couldn't fit that in.
I would have loved to be able to do the 5K and kayak race they held Saturday morning but we stayed to watch Drew's game Friday night and had to drive home Saturday morning.  When I dropped off his swim shoes to him at the creek he asked for $5 so he could get a wristband to do everything and I didn't have any money on me so I took the rest of the kids and we went over to check it out.  There were hardly any people there.  They were able to do rock climbing as long as they wanted.  They each did the water trampoline once were done with it.

Zack really enjoyed it and did it several different times.

 Aydon "at work"

They even got to do a peddleboat.  I sure wish the whole family could've been there and participated in the events.  We'll have to plan on it next year.

Camping

We've had such a busy summer that we haven't had much time to get away and spend time together as a family.  We decided to make a quick trip to go look for berries to see if they were getting close to being ready and then camp.
We ran into a longime friend in Pine and he told us to try a road and when we did we saw deer on both sides of our vehicle just a few feet from us.
We headed to our campsite and realized we had parked in a wildfire area and had a notice that we needed to move.  Luckily we only had to drive a mile north and was able to park there.  It was so nice to cook outside while the kids played.  Presley had a blast playing baseball and climbing the rocks with her brothers.  The boys had found a pond in a cave right near where there were lots of rocks.  I enjoyed sitting in a chair and relaxing.  Sunshine met us out there for dinner and stayed the night with us.
Presley did good going to sleep but it cold in the night and I was worried she was too cold so I grabbed her and put her in bed with me and she was fine for a few hours but she woke up about 4:30 or so and was done!  She wouldn't go back to sleep, she didn't want to watch her favorite show Puppy Dog Pals and so I got up and took her for a drive along the road we were camped on.  We saw a ton of elk, a coyote and more deer.  She called all of them "moo's" and loved to watch them.

Once everyone else woke up we drove a few miles down the same road to see if the rest of the family could see some elk but all we saw was deer.  Presley stuck her head out the window and was trying to call the "moo's".

4th of July

Preston made it home in time to hang out!
 John Luke's 3rd birthday party
The water was cold and Luke's little chin was shivering the whole time!

 Presley even took a turn

That's what she thinks of sitting in cold water.
She really liked John Luke's birthday present
It's the biggest ride on toy I've ever seen!
Sunshine was home for a visit
