Thanksgivings

Uncle Larry's came to town to watch the Christmas parade.  This was the first time in I can't remember how long that I've gone to watch it.  Even then, I was late because I let Presley finish her nap before going.  The three older boys joined the Interact Club a youth division of the Rotary Club.  They had a float in the parade and the boys were on it.

Our church put a float in the parade this year and they asked Drew to be a wise man in it.

The boys hooked Grandma Bowman up with pockets full of candy and threw Presley something as they were leaving.
You can see Presley on the edge of the picture seeing Santa Claus.  She got a couple of suckers and as soon as someone would give her one, she wanted it immediately of course.  She even got a bottle of bubbles and had lots of fun.

We had planned to have an early Thanksgiving dinner after the parade.  Dad was here and ate but left before the LSU game started and Preston was working so neither of them were there for pictures.

We were sad that Aunt Melinda couldn't join in the fun.

 Cousin picture

Grandma cracked us all up posing as I was getting the timer started on my camera.

Corey asked that I do the same for the Thanksgiving we had at their house.  Preston's brothers son joined us so that's who the extra one is.  :)

Our family plus a couple of cousins
Since we had a traditional Thanksgiving the Saturday before we opted to have Mexican at John & Corey's and oh man was it good.  We had a tradtional meal at Preston's family before we came so Preston didn't miss out on the tradtional meal.

Volunteer of the quarter

I received a call from Ms. Deb Lopez, the Junior High principal saying she needed some help from me.  She had suggested Preston as volunteer of the quarter and he won but she didn't want him to know before hand.  She said, just say Aydon has to present to the school board or something so that'll he will go.  So we did.  When they announced his name he looked over at me so surprised.
Ms. Lopez wrote up a very nice piece on how he has helped raise enough money to buy new jerseys and new equipment, helping promote the wellness of the students by holding open weights after school for anyone interested.  I could tell Preston was holding back tears and Presley leaned over to him, and started rubbing his back like you do when someone is crying and it sure made me laugh.
It was so nice of them to recognize the time and work that he has put into the junior high program the last four years.

Life lately

We took Aydon to a specialist about his short stature in the Valley.  We were hoping we could intervene and help him grow but she said it was too late and he would most likely only grow to be 5'6".  He's ok with that.  While we were there, just him & I got to stop at Pappadeaux's and have some yummy food.
 Gator
Crawfish bisque & a po' boy
He had some pasta
and then begged me to say it was his birthday so he could get a banana pudding dessert.
Presley got to ride on the hovercart with her brothers
Aydon & Ty are inaugural members of the newly formed Interact Club.  Aydon was sworn in as President.  He's hoping to get to go to Africa with this organization this summer.
This is our first year of free Saturday's in 10 years!  It's nice.
 Presley is 'dead'
I started working on potty training with Presley, mostly because she will not keep her diaper on if it's not covered.  I just love this picture of her watching her cartoons naked.

She is totally hooked to this purple blanket and calls it her 'key' and carries it everywhere.
She finally got the idea of going in the potty.  She just doesn't talk very much yet and so we can't really officially potty train until she can say she has to go in the potty.  We use it everytime before/after we get out of the bathtub.
Eating in her big girl panties.
Her & John Luke have spent some time hanging out and playing together at Granny's during football games and a couple of times she's babysat during the day.
We finally had a free minute to order Aydon's letter jacket and he got to wear it at the Varisty game in Holbrook after Granny sewed the few things on that we had.

For about a 2 days I was able to pull Presley's hair up into the teeniest tiniest ponytail until she started reaching up and pulling them out.
 She looked really cute
She loves bathtime and splashing water now
She loves riding the four wheeler with anyone that will take her on a ride.
She curls this blanket up in a ball and puts in on her face all the time.
 She loves to read books
She calls all big animals "moos"  She has started noticing the cows at the arena down the road and even spots cows when we are out driving on the freeway.
She likes to play the piano.  I finally pulled the stool over to let her sit and play by herself.
She loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
