Cardinals vs Rams

I was super impressed when the Cardinal's were one of 4-0 teams early in the season.  So we jinxed them...we bought tickets to a game.  They haven't won since!
Mike & I decided we should catch a game before he left on his mission.  We wanted to do the Monday night game but they had a vacation planned and since they would be here for Thanksgiving his parents surprised him with tickets to the game that Sunday.
We asked Garrett to watch the boys during the game so they were happy to spend time playing with their cousins while we were at the game.
Preston loved the reflection of the flag in the windows of the stadium.
Preston & I even splurged and bought Cardinal's shirts to wear.

While we were watching the players go on and off the field we got a close up.
View from our seats.
Allen, Cody, Cristine & Mike.  We love this family so much, always a good time with them.
Cristine was responsible for one the touchdowns!  ;)

The Cardinals started their third string quaterback so it was a good first half and then it turned really bad after the half.  We did enjoy our time with the Johnson's though.

I was looking forward to finally being at a game with the roof open since it was November (they only open it in Nov & Dec) but it was too hot to open.  80 degree weather on Thanksgiving weekend, I'll take that over the roof being open any day.  :)

Veronica picture messaged me these pictures.  They took them to an outdoor skating rink near the stadium and then took them to dinner at Cracker Barrel.

I couldn't believe Zack was doing it by himself!

Zack on the "plastic" ice and Ty hugging the wall.  :)
It was so nice to let them have a fun afternoon while Preston and I got to have some fun.  And they slept the whole way home!  That was the most enjoyable ride I've had in a long time, then I realized that Drew had stayed with my parents and that was why it was extra quiet.

Thanksgiving

The weekend before Thanksgiving is always the Christmas parade.  I was hoping the boys hadn't heard anything about it so we could skip it.  Lucky for us, my mother in law offered to take them to the parade for us doing her a favor and working the mail route in Flagstaff.  No parade, a full day alone with my hubby & dinner out!  I'll take a work date!  We got to watch part of the LSU game while eating & listened to the rest of it on the drive home.
We got a call from Mickey Mouse the day before Thanksgiving.  It took a few minutes for it to register with Zack & Drew and boy were they excited!
A Winslow tradition is the annual Turkey bowl.  Preston, Garrett & John all played and the three older boys & Jailyn went to watch them.  Drew was not happy to be left at home with his mom.  Only in the past couple of weeks has he sat to watch a cartoon for the first time in his life.  The only thing he will sit for is Mickey Mouse.  I had to turn it on to keep him happy while I finished getting things ready for Thanksgiving dinner.
We had a great meal.  Preston, Mike, Cody & I snuck some dessert (Coconut Creme Pie) before the big meal and it was amazing.  Best idea ever, may make that a tradition.
The Johnson family came.  Their oldest, Mike, is leaving on his mission soon and I had to get in one more game of Spoons before he left.  :)  We used a portable table this time and were able to have a nice, friendly game with no injuries or broken furniture.  I stole these pictures from Cristine, thanks!  :)

Love the look Preston's giving Mike.
We watched the final regular season LSU game.  My parents got me a flag pole so next year I'll get to fly my own LSU flag!  Can't wait.
I broke my tradition of putting the Christmas tree up this weekend.  I'm not doing any decorating this year besides a tiny tree and the window lights in the boys rooms.  I'm not doing a Christmas card, I'm going to do a New Year's card.  I'm looking forward to a relaxed December with no stress over Christmas presents and enjoying the Spirit of the season.
