Cub Scout Pack Meeting

 Zack received his Arrow of Light.  This kid does not smile for pictures.  Both Zack & Drew received a bunch of awards and then had a really fun game afterwards.  They ate a bunch of different foods, like witches fingers (vienna sausges), frog eyes (green cottage cheese), zombie brains (red cauliflower), human flesh (spam), ?(baby food), & eyeballs? (green jello with raisins).  The final food was real sardines and only a few tried those.  Zack only had the witches fingers and green jello with raisins.  Drew ate everything but baby food and sardines.

Such a fun pack meeting.  The older boys ahd wanted to go but I told them no to stay with the baby at my parents and because the floor was being re-done at the church there was no room so it's good they didn't come but they were disappointed to miss such a fun meeting.

New truck, new business

 Preston has wanted a truck literally ever since he stopped driving his truck in high school.  Everytime we've gone to get a new vehicle, he's bought what I want or what's best for our family instead.  He finally was able to get him a truck.  We went to pick it up on his 20 year anniversary of working for the railroad...sounds like an appropriate gift for 20 years, right!

 It's 2008 60th edition but still looks really good!  We picked it up before we went to a class on our new business.  

Ashley Cunningham had taught us how to do screenprinting but highly suggested the class her and Chipper took and it just happened to be the weekend that our equipment was ready.  Garrett & Veronica watched all of our kids (I was so nervous to leave Presley, but she did great) and we did a Saturday and Sunday class.  What Ashley had taught us was everything that was in the class, we would've been just fine without it but I'm glad we did because it gave us the confidence we needed to get started.  We left the class so eager to get working.  

Ashley had jobs lined up for us and we were able to find quite a few jobs and we started off so busy!  We are so thankful for Ashley & Chipper for helping us get started and referring people to us.  We are enjoying it and it's a great job for me because I can still be home and don't have to leave Presley with anyone!

 

 

The kids have all been dying to learn how to do it and that's another thing I love, they can be out there and help us too.

Aydon 9th grade JV Football & Swim Team

Aydon's freshmen football photo.  The backdrop of this photo is from a Varsity game that our photographer took on the sidelines.  Aydon & Preston were working chains and she showed Aydon and he was telling me about it after the game.  I loved that she used it.

I didn't take many pictures this year.  I didn't even have to record games for the first time!!!  They have girls that record and they post it so they have access to it.  I did record all the plays he was in on when Preston wasn't able to make the games.  We got a couple videos of him being decleated (because he is so small compared to the other JV players!) but he always popped right back up and played hard.  He didn't get a ton of playing time due to his size I think but he was one of the freshmen that was able to play every game.  He started on kickoff and soon was starting on kickoff and kick return.  I think he played at least one down on defense every game as well.  There were kids that didn't get playing time so at least he did every game.  He would tell me that the coaches and even the other players all noticed his efforts and would get commended on that during practice.  We are just hoping that he'll have a bit of a growth spurt before next season.

His JV team was very good and went 7-2 losing to Snowflake twice (there was a team that couldn't field a JV squad so we picked up an extra game against Snowflake and the second game was much closer).

  Presley, Zack (I took him to help, plus the others had practice) & I only went to one swim meet.  There were no home meets and it was just to hard with the other kids practices and Preston coaching for me to attend anymore.

 It was in Sedona and oh man it was gorgeous!

 Aydon was dual sporting and so he only did 2 races usually 50 free & 100 breast.

 He really didn't do great at swim, just because dual sporting was hard to stay in swim shape.  The kids he was beating in summer swim were beating him in HS swim so that showed us that he just needed to be full time in swim to be competitive there.  He did enjoy swim team though and went on all the trips that didn't conflict with football games.

Garrett & Veronica went to watch him at a meet in Gilbert and then their coach sent this picture of them at another meet down in the valley one time of them line dancing.
