Away games #44, Home games #20

They started the year with 30 kids and at the last game they had 17 playing.  They lost one to injury and most of the rest lost to ineligibility.  They finished the season 5-2.  They lost a really close game at Blue Ridge that they really should have won.  Show Low slaughtered them so I'm sure they cant' wait for next year to get revenge.  John's not pictured, but he was a coach as well.  It was a shorter season but seemed to be quite a bit of work working with eligibility.  The coaches took it upon themselves to get their math they were working on and help tutor them after practice so these boys could stay a team.  Of those 30 that started, there were only about a 1/3 of them that had played youth football previously so it was a learning year and great to see some new kids and the talent they had along with cheering on the boys we've been cheering for years.  

Since I record all the games, I only have pictures from a couple of games.

Played many positions on offense this year..including on the line against guys that were much bigger than him.

 He made his first catch ever on his first pass attempt earlier in the year, but missed on his 2nd attempt here at Holbrook.

He was the long snapper too...wasn't pretty the first game but with some practice, he improved.

Ty's 11th birthday

Ty hasn't been able to have a friend party on his birthday in a while.  It's usually during fall break and we have been going on vacation the past couple of years.  No different this year, it was the night before we were supposed to leave and I felt very rushed but I think he still had fun.  

Ty wanted a capture the flag party like Aydon had last year.  We had a couple big piles of wood that needed burned again so it worked out fine.  Only thing was our jungle of weeds.  We had been waiting for it to rain during the summer to pull weeds and it never did when we were home.  Then I started working so I haven't had time to pull them.  I actually put Ty on the four wheeler with a drag behind him and let him do it that way for the majority of them.  I think he enjoyed doing that.  

He wanted to invite his entire football team but we had to have his party after practice and I didn't think I could feel a whole football team of hungry boys right after practice.  I told him Aydon invited 12 and he could too.  

As soon as the kids arrived, we offered to feed them but they all just wanted to play so we let them.  They played a few rounds and then it started to sprinkle, then pretty quickly turned to a good rain,  They then decided they were hungry so we fed them, ate cake and ice cream and opened presents.  It worked out great.  I made two cakes thinking I'd have starving boys but they only ate what equaled to one.  I had to send kids home with cake since we were leaving for vacation the next day.

Avery got him such a fun present...fireworks and those toys that fly up in the air.

Cole got him a new nerf gun!

His "extra Mee-Maw & Pa" as they call themselves (Corey's parents) got him a new outfit that he LOVED!  

Emily made him a handwritten card and then spelled out his name in legos for him

Granny watched John Luke during the party but got him this new jacket, 

binoculars, and a flashlight for his upcoming hunt.

We bought him a camelback, and a couple of things to go inside it for his hunt & new LSU shirt.

Corey, John and the family got him what he wanted most, a marble maze that he likes from GATE.

It was late, we were tired but I wanted to get our annual birthday picture in.
